When to Use an Air Mattress
Inflatable beds and blow-up mattresses are perfect bedding options when you’re hosting overnight guests, going on an outdoor camping trip, or just looking for a temporary bedding solution. Additionally, air mattresses make great guest beds or permanent RV bedding.
What to Look for in an Airbed
Having a comfortable bed to lay down on after a long day is crucial for our well-being. Be sure to get yourself a comfy air mattress that supports your back and gives you sound sleep all night long. The ideal mattress can be set up quickly and stored easily, but still comfortable enough for a good night's rest. It may be important to find a high bed meant to match the height of a traditional bed so that you can acclimate to it easier. In addition to the height, pay attention to the amount of mattress coils. The number of air coils in the mattress is a good indicator of how firm and supportive the mattress will be. Opt for a mattress with a minimum of 30 coils for extra comfort.
How to Blow up an Air Mattress
Air mattresses are sold in a deflated state. Therefore, the easiest way to inflate an air mattress is with a manual, handheld, or electric air pump. Some air mattresses are self-inflating with built-in pumps sure to make your outdoor experience a breeze. These are easy to use, and usually only involve unscrewing a cap and pressing an “inflate” button. But before you blow it up, make sure that your air mattress is placed in an area free of potential popping hazards. Then, when it’s time to pack it up, the pump will deflate the airbed so that it can be stored away until it’s needed again.
