How Do Solar Watches Work?
Unlike other standard types of watches, which use batteries to keep time, solar watches function by using a solar panel embedded in the watch to store light converted to energy in a rechargeable cell inside the timepiece. This means the watch is able to function day or night, without stopping, as the stored energy in the cell will be available all day long. Look for watches that offer lithium-ion cells, which offer even more energy storage capacity and longer use in the dark, even if light hasn’t reached the watch in months!
